It's funny-annoying. Must look absolutely retarded to anyone seeing this unfold, but just a complete waste of energy to the victim (aka ME...all the time).
Speaking of winter mishaps. This weekend on my basketball road trip, I was sleeping and my feet were resting on a teammates lap across the aisle of the bus. As I was drifting off to sleep, I began to dream.
Didn't get too far in that dream though: I ended up twitch-kicking my leg so hard that I jolted awake and sat up and all I exclaimed in explanation was, "I SLIPPED ON ICE!" Gosh it's so stupid when that happens haha.
Seriously, though, watching people try not to fall on ice is one of the funniest things to me. I'm chuckling now as I type this. Especially when it's people who think they're just sooooo cool. There is no hope on this earth that one can look "cool" while flailing their body around trying to stay upright on ice. It truly is a humbling experience!
Although this reminds me one time a couple of years ago. As funny as slipping is, there's one thing that I can't handle: elderly people falling. It actually physically pains my heart to see old people get hurt.
This one evening, my family I were coming out of the Centennial Concert Hall after a concert and as we were walking down the stairs outside the building, I heard my parents call for my sister and I who had been a few paces ahead of them. We turn around and this old lady had slipped and fallen head first down the concrete stairs!! My mom was right there and began to compress the wound on her head with a scarf another lady had tossed her. Honestly, it looked like she had been shot, that's how much blood there was! Sorry for those of you reading this that can't handle this visual...
Oh man, it was so hard to see. An ambulance was there in a bit to take her away.
I still wonder about that lady...
Moral of the story: Tread lightly & carefully!
