Let's face it, motivating yourself to workout on your own is difficult when you're constantly on the go and want to savour those days off...especially during the dreary winter months. I've been horrible in keeping up my healthy active side since being done competitive college sports. I mean, I play volleyball once a week- but really, that's not going to cut it (especially with some of the competition we face...). I always seem to find some excuse to not do something workout related.
However- today, with the snow melting, the sun shining, and that fresh smell in the air (perhaps the smell of bikini's being pulled out of stock), I found some sliver of motivation and did my own set of circuits. I always find myself more prone to working out hard on my own during these spring seasons. Again- perhaps the nearness of beach season looming.
I've been telling myself I'd get a gym membership for the last couple months. I always just think I can't afford it. I think I'll bite the bullet for April and do one month at Shapes and perhaps it'll get me on track to do more on my own.
I'm not obsessed with becoming one of those Fitness Magazine cover girls (clearly not going to happen)- I just want to feel healthy like I did back at Prov during my athletic days...and not outgrow my jeans!

no excuse now! ha ha
you and i know that it is way easier to work out with a team! i am still struggling with those same feelings! I suck at motivating myself to work out. it does help to find a piece of equipment you like using, or a workout class you like going to, or you have a friend that works out with you. idea: you and i could commit to a 30 day work out plan and keep each other posted on each day. we can keep each other accountable. lets work it out!
